Introduction
This project came about by the popularity of Duke Nukem 3D in the year 12 class
of '97. The concept was inspired by an idea from Luke Meehan. After playing
Duke in the computer room he joked that pretty soon people would be running around the school with shotguns and rocket launchers crazily trying to hunt each other down. I thought this would be a cool scenario for the game, so I set out to learn how to create my own maps for the game.

Creating the level
I could not be bothered learning how to create levels well before I started working on the St Kevins level, so I decided to begin by creating the SKC level and learn as I go. I found myself creating rooms with relative ease, but the main problem was relying on my memory to create them as they are in real life.

After about two weeks of working on the level, I showed a few friends what I had done, some of them were impressed, though others, not understanding the diffuculties involved, merely pointed out the imperfections (as if I didn't know them). As the level grew, more people started showing interest in it, and I was under pressure by some to complete it.

Problems
I have encountered hundreds of problems along the way a few of the main ones were:
       - trying to simulate the real world on a two dimensional grid
       - not having enough room to fit the entire school in the map
       - creating multiple floors for the buildings
       - keeping everything in proportion
       - not making the level too large that it is slow and boring
       - getting bored of creating the level
       - fitting it in with school and other stuff

Some of these problems were solved, for others I have figured out tempoary arrangements. Some will never be solved.

Help me
By giving me feedback, you are helping me to find out what you think is good and bad on my site. If anybody has created their own maps of the College, I will place them in the downloads page if you mail it to me.
